Cooper Parry has made three strategic hires to its national Equity Reward and Venture Capital Schemes team, led by CP partner Andrew Holloway, as part of its growth plans in Scotland.

Kirsty Paton, director, Ryan Lewis, senior manager, and Amber Young, assistant manager have all joined the firm from CT (formerly Chiene + Tait).

Since partnering with Waterland Private Equity in 2022, the firm has quadrupled in size, with 11 deals complementing market-leading organic growth. The firm now comprises 1,450 people and 128 partners across the UK, in superhubs in London, the Midlands, Manchester and the Thames Valley.

The trio will be supporting companies and their founders with tax advice around incentivising staff and securing external investment.

With a “strong” Scottish presence already across Tax, Audit, Tech and High Growth and Business Services and Outsourcing, CP’s high growth team works closely with privately owned, early to mid-market businesses, tapping into the firm’s UK-wide network of specialisms.

Cooper Parry stated that these key recruitments are “another milestone in the firm’s creation of the UK’s next-gen professional services group, covering accountancy, wealth management, deals, tech, and law”.

Holloway said: “When I joined CP in 2022 I was our first Scottish-based employee. Fast-forward to today we now have a real depth of quality in the team: Kirsty, Ryan and Amber’s arrival is a case in point and there are more strategic hires to come. I’m really excited to bring in such talented advisers, but also the power of our network and deep expertise in sectors like technology to both new and existing clients.

“CP is genuinely a firm with a difference: our expansion & acquisitions mean that like our clients we’re ambitious and entrepreneurial. Our culture is market-leading – we attract & retain the best and have people policies such as ‘work from anywhere, anytime’ and open holiday. We are the leading advisers to venture backed businesses in the UK and look forward to further establishing our footprint in the sectors important to the Scottish economy. So, we walk the walk and are here to shake up the market.”

Kirsty Paton, director at Cooper Parry, added: “I’ve been a big fan of Cooper Parry for a while now: I love the punchy brand, how they operate, and the type of clients they represent so am thrilled to join such a progressive, ambitious business. I see this as a huge opportunity to build out our team, both in Scotland and nationally.

“CP has solid credentials as market leaders in high-growth sectors like tech, and as the UK’s largest accountancy B Corp we’re perfectly placed to continue supporting clients through the transition to a green economy. Having worked with Ryan and Amber previously, it’s awesome to start this new chapter with them and bring our collective expertise to a new, fast-moving, national team.”
