PwC has announced the appointment of Darren Ketteringham as its new UK leader of industry for Financial Services.

The role involves leadership responsibility for the thousands of people serving PwC’s clients at many of the world’s top organisations across the banking, insurance, asset and wealth management, and commercial real estate sectors.

Ketteringham has been a partner at PwC for 19 years after joining the firm in 1994. He spent thirty years working with financial services organisations, primarily in the banking and capital markets sector. He has been PwC’s lead relationship partner for some of the firm’s top banking clients.

He was chief operating officer on the Lehman UK Administration, and has spent the last five years leading PwC’s banking and capital markets consulting practice in the UK.

Ketetringham replaces Isabelle Jenkins who took on the role in January 2021, and who was appointed chief people officer of PwC UK’s Consulting division on 1st July.

Ketteringham said: “I’m really looking forward to leading our Financial Services business and talented team to support our clients as they transform their business models, address regulatory requirements and navigate the opportunities and demands of a complex market environment.”

Carl Sizer, chief markets officer and Management Board member, PwC UK, added: “The financial services industry is a jewel in the crown of the UK economy. The sector continues to face a wide range of opportunities and challenges, and the depth and breadth of Darren’s experience working with some of our largest financial services clients makes him a great person to lead our efforts in this area.”
