TC Group has announced the completion of a merger with North East-based accountancy practice Stokoe Rodger.

Stokoe Rodger is a firm of Chartered Accountants with offices in Gateshead and Hexham that has been providing services to clients since 1960.

It comes as part of TC Group’s merger and acquisition strategy which has seen it make a number of deals.

Just this year the company has acquired Harland Accountants, Lang Bennetts, Crossley Group, Citroen Wells and Lister and Co.

Mark Bradley, partner, said: “We’re delighted to be joining TC Group. We have been an independent firm for over 60 years, so when it came to us considering a merger, we needed to be very careful about who we chose. It was immediately obvious that TC Group was the right fit for us.

“They share our passion for building close local working relationships with clients and providing high-quality proactive advice. Joining the group allows us to not only extend the range of services that we can offer to clients but also enables us to provide enhanced career progression opportunities to all of our team. We are very excited about working with them and this next chapter for our practice.”

Shiv Shah, TC Group’s M&A partner, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Stokoe Rodger to TC Group and further expand our presence in the North East with a highly respected and well established practice. It reflects our goal of seeking like-minded firms with whom to join forces and grow. TC Group will support the existing team of Stokoe Rodger with the availability of additional services and resources to existing and new local clients.”
