Hurst has welcomed its latest five trainees – Hannah Davidson, Angus Hall, Ella Halsall, Danielle Morrison and Daniel Saysell – which has taken its total intake this year to nine.
This latest cohort of trainees have been introduced following a prior group of four joined the firm in April, comprising Finnlay Blanchon, Aidan Coyne, Fergus Elstone and Ahsan Waseem.
All of the nine newcomers have joined the business services team to undertake their training towards becoming chartered accountants.
Davidson, Saysell and Halsall have graduated in accounting and finance at Manchester Metropolitan University, with Morrison achieving a forensic psychology degree from MMU.
Meanwhile, Hall has graduated in business economics from the University of Liverpool.
Of the April cohort, Blanchon and Waseem were college leavers who gained their A-levels at Aquinas College in Stockport and Loreto College in Manchester respectively.
Coyne has a food science degree from the University of Leeds and Elstone graduated in international business at Sheffield Hallam University.
In addition, Nathan Wood has joined Hurst on a one-year placement while studying at the University of Salford for a degree in accounting and finance.
Chris Stewardson, partner at Hurst, who is responsible for trainee inductions, said: “Hannah, Angus, Ella, Danielle and Daniel are our first intake since our move to new offices and we are excited to welcome them into the business services team.
“Each of them will work towards becoming chartered accountants over the next few years under our programme which involves internal, external and on-the-job technical training alongside softer skills training.”
He added: “We look forward to seeing all of our trainees develop their careers with us and playing their part in helping us to achieve our continued growth plans.”
The firm recently moved its head office to a new flagship development in Stockport to accommodate its growing team, taking 11,000 sq ft at 3 Stockport Exchange – the latest phase of a £145m project by Muse Developments and Stockport Council.
Hurst aims to grow from 120 staff to around 170 over the next three years.
