Moore Kingston Smith has announced the acquisition of Moore Northern Ireland, a fellow member of the Moore UK and Moore Global networks.
Moore Northern Ireland has offices in Belfast, Coleraine and Derry~Londonderry, with seven partners and 100 people providing accountancy and advisory services to individuals, entrepreneurs, large organisations and complex international businesses.
Recognising the business links between the financial centres of London, Belfast and Dublin, and with growing cross-border trade, the group has formed a tripartite with Moore Ireland and Moore Northern Ireland to “best serve” clients operating across that geographical triangle.
The move follows Moore’s acquisition of Moore Ireland in July 2023, as well as WMT in June this year. It also marks Moore Kingston Smith’s fourth acquisition since its recent investment from European private equity firm, Waterland, to fund its M&A programme and growth strategy.
Matt Meadows, managing partner of Moore Kingston Smith, said: “As long standing members of the Moore Global network, we’ve enjoyed an excellent relationship with Moore Northern Ireland having worked with them closely over the years.
“This partnership brings us closer and enhances our ability to bring further opportunities to our clients. Together, we’ll combine our strengths, forge stronger business links and adopt best practices across our firms to their benefit.”
Nigel Thompson, senior partner at Moore Northern Ireland, added: “Joining Moore Kingston Smith, a fellow Moore member firm and champion of SMEs, is a forward-looking move I’m pleased to see. We have long served the OMB sector, evolving with it, and this is a natural step given the direction of the market, which further strengthens our position as a leading adviser.”
