South West-based accountancy firm Albert Goodman has bolstered its Bristol auditing team with the appointment of Neil Johnston as audit partner.

Johnston’s appointment marks a “significant” hire for Albert Goodman’s growing Bristol office, which will see him take on the role of expanding the firm’s audit offering within the city and further enhancing the provision of expert services to businesses and owners across the South West.

A Bristol University alumni, he has lived in the city for more than 15 years. He joins Albert Goodman from RSM and prior to that, he spent over seven years at EY.

Over the course of his career, he has developed extensive audit, accountancy, and business advisory skills, working with a range of companies and organisations.

Commenting on his appointment, Johnston said: “Albert Goodman has earned its reputation as an accountancy firm that provides an outstanding level of service for its clients across the breadth of the region. In equal measure, the firm’s culture and its teams of incredibly talented people were a huge draw for me.

“Having been lucky enough to call Bristol my home for well over a decade now, I’m relishing the opportunity to bring my knowledge of the local market to the table, and helping to drive growth within my specialist area of the business.”

Iain McVicar, managing partner at Albert Goodman, added: “We’re thrilled to be able to welcome Neil into the fold as a key member of our partnership and Bristol team.

“Nurturing talent is a fundamental driver for us across our network of offices. Neil has excelled in his career to-date, and we’re excited to see where his role at Albert Goodman will take him.”
