UHY Manchester leaders to fundraise for Manchester Children’s Hospital

UHY Manchester’s CEO, David Kendrick and corporate finance partner, Peter Williams, have decided to participate in the ROC Challenge to raise money for Manchester Children’s Hospital. 

With the donation target set at £20,000, the partners are aiming to purchase a new mini-bus and other life-saving equipment for the hospital, so that they can continue to provide the best medical care for their patients.

This hospital has not only made huge impacts to families across the North West, but it has also played a significant role for several employees throughout the Manchester firm. 

The ROC Challenge is an ultra-triathlon taking place throughout the year in Wales, England and Scotland. The challenge will start with a 1.5km sea swim in Abersoch’s bay, then a 49.5km bike ride, followed by a 12km hike up Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, a return 49.5km bike ride and finishing with a 1km run along Abersoch beach. 

Manchester Children’s Hospital is the largest and busiest children’s hospital in the UK, providing care and treatment for children and young people. Not only is the hospital committed to improving their patients’ lives in the present day, but they are also dedicated to looking into the future, through leading children’s clinical research. It supports research into 25 specialities, including paediatric metabolic medicine, childhood cancers and kidney disorders.

The charity associated with the hospital, Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, invests any donations they receive into cutting-edge equipment to diagnose and treat their patients, fund medical research and create a welcoming environment to provide as much comfort as possible to their patients.

Kendrick said: “We wanted to make a significant difference and help the community prosper. By supporting this amazing charity, our objective is to buy them a new minibus and some other critical equipment.”
