Nearly three-quarters (71%) of apprentices have reported a salary increase since beginning their apprenticeship, according to the Association of Accounting Technicians’ (AAT) latest Salary Survey for qualified and training accountants.
According to the new data, 83% of those who have completed accounting qualifications with AAT stated that the qualification has increased their earning potential.
Additionally, Level 2 students can expect to earn a median salary of £24,500, with progression and reward “clear to see” in the accounting career pathway, as the average salary for AAT members increases to £35,000 once they have advanced to professional membership.
Meanwhile, the data also revealed a 34% increase in salary between Level 4 and full member status (MAAT).
In addition to the publication of the new survey, AAT has also launched a Salary Survey calculator, so that users can compare their salary with fellow members based on level, job title or age.
