Two thirds of businesses have said either their trade has been unaffected by Brexit or that they have made gains elsewhere that make up for Brexit losses, according to data from Deloitte.

Furthermore, businesses are positive about the development of the UK-EU trade relationship, with over half saying they expect the relationship will improve over the next five years.

Just over half (54%) said the UK’s FTA programme is beneficial to their business, with 62% expecting it to have a positive impact on economic growth over the next decade, up 15% on last year.

While 59% of businesses reported having lost trade with the EU as a result of Brexit, this number is significantly lower than in 2022, at 74%.

Alongside this, almost half (46%) think the review of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation review will result in a closer relationship with the EU, with improved market access for goods and services.

Over 40% of businesses trading within or with Northern Ireland stated that the Windsor Framework had already been beneficial to them after two months in operation.
