Top-25 firm of chartered accountants, Haysmacintyre, has announced the appointment of Dougie Todd as a partner in its VAT team.

The appointment continues an exciting period of growth for the company, following the appointment of Paul Atkins as property tax partner in June, and is the sixth addition to the partnership this year.

Having recently been assistant tax director at bet365, leading the VAT and duties teams, Todd has also held positions at Big Four and mid-tier firms, where he specialised in a range of corporate sectors including property, construction and supply chains from a taxation perspective.

In his role as VAT partner at Haysmacintyre, Todd will work closely with Phil Salmon, partner and head of VAT, leading the team and further developing the firm’s VAT service line as part of its continued strategy to enhance tax advisory services. In addition to supporting the broader development of Haysmacintyre’s people, his appointment will further solidify the firm’s position as a leading tax advisory firm.

Commenting on his appointment, Todd said: “I’m thrilled to have joined Haysmacintyre in what is an exciting period of growth for the firm. Haysmacintyre is well-known for its high quality tax advice, and I look forward to working alongside Phil Salmon and the hugely talented team to help further grow the firm’s corporate VAT service.”

Natasha Frangos, managing partner, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dougie as partner in our VAT team. Remaining attractive to external talent continues to be a focus for the firm, as we look to further bolster our tax advisory offering.

“Dougie’s expertise will complement Phil’s experience and together they will lead the VAT team and drive our corporate VAT growth strategy forward. We look forward to welcoming Dougie as part of this next stage of development for the firm.”
