Deloitte cuts ties with Russia and Belarus

All Big Four firms have now exited the country amid the ongoing crisis

Deloitte has announced the firm will no longer operate in Russia and Belarus, separating these practices from the global network of member firms.

The decision will impact 3,000 employees located in Russia and Belarus. Deloitte said its colleagues affected by the decision have “no voice in the actions of their government”.

The firm added that it will support all of the impacted colleagues during this transition and “do all we can to assist them during this extremely difficult time”.

The announcement comes as PwC, KPMG and EY also recently revealed they will close operations in Russia, meaning all Big Four firms have now exited the country amid the ongoing crisis.

Punit Renjen, global CEO at Deloitte, said: “We will continue to prioritise the needs of our people and clients while we bring the full strength of Deloitte’s global resources to bear in addressing the mounting humanitarian needs in Ukraine and across Europe.

“We will honour our commitments and obligations to global financial markets and multiple regulatory bodies.”
