EY-Parthenon bolsters Turnaround & Restructuring practice

Matthews joins from THM Partners where he worked alongside management teams in companies undergoing a financial restructuring or a restructuring event, helping them to improve their financial stability and control

EY-Parthenon has announced the appointment of Iestyn Matthews as an associate partner to its Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy practice.

In his new role, Matthews joins the 250-strong Turnaround and Restructuring Strategy team, where he will continue to advise corporate clients on how they can protect and create value.

Matthews brings over 20 years’ experience and rejoins EY, having previously worked across the firm’s business risk and restructuring teams for almost 10 years, where he predominantly focused on distressed restructuring and bank advisory work.

Prior to rejoining the firm, Matthews worked at restructuring boutique, THM Partners, where he worked alongside management teams in companies undergoing a financial restructuring or a restructuring event, helping them to improve their financial stability and control.  

Previously, he worked for Alvarez and Marsal where he also focused on company side restructuring working on a range of financial restructuring, performance improvement and corporate transformation projects.

Matthews said: “I’m delighted to be re-joining EY and am looking forward to working alongside the wider firm in supporting our corporate clients to preserve and create value in a period of substantial uncertainty and change.”
