Azets raises £2,600 in charity abseil

The event took place on Saturday, 21 August 2021 and is the first active event under Azets’ new charity partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

Azets has revealed that it has raised a total of £2,600 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity by abseiling 190 ft down the Park Regis Hotel on Broad Street.

The event took place on Saturday, 21 August 2021 and is the first active event under Azets’ new charity partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

The partnership, announced last month, includes a pledge by the firm to raise £25k in the next 12 months under its ‘Strive for £25k’ campaign, which will cover the cost of a full-time peer support worker for Forward Thinking Birmingham.

Paul Clifford, Azets’ regional CEO, and Praveen Gupta, office managing partner with Azets Birmingham, both took part in the charity abseil, alongside 12 colleagues from accounting, tax, and business services.

Furthermore, as part of its contribution, Azets employees will also provide mentorship for children and young people requiring professional support, including CV reviews and work experience.

Rashpal Virdee, senior regional marketing manager with Azets, said: “This was the first fundraising event under our new partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and I am delighted to have taken part – even more delighted to now have two feet firmly on the ground.”

“For 14 people, including members of the senior management team, to volunteer their weekend time to help fundraise demonstrates Azets’ motivation to meet its pledge of raising at least £25k in the next 12 months – and we look forward to many more opportunities to keep increasing that total.”
