IIA names new board chair

The international audit organisation has appointed Charlie Wright, the chief risk officer for Jack Henry, as its new board chair

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has named the latest board chair of its global board of directors.

Charlie Wright, the chief risk officer for technology services provider Jack Henry, will lead the board’s 17-member team, chair the IIA’s supervisory committee, and preside over the body’s general assembly.

As a chief audit executive with 35 years of experience in financial services, Wright is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

In his role with Jack Henry, Wright oversees internal audit functions, as well as occupational risk management, regulatory and compliance, third-party risks, and asset protection.

Anthony J. Pugliese, the IIA’s president and CEO, said: “Charlie Wright has made a huge impact on the IIA through his longtime involvement and leadership.

“We’re proud to have him now serve as global chair and look forward to his support as we continue to grow, educate, and elevate the internal audit profession around the world.”

David Foss, the president and CEO for Jack Henry, said: “The addition of Charlie Wright as the board chair of IIA is a strategic and smart move.

“Charlie is an experienced professional who continues to seek new opportunities to learn, collaborate and grow both professionally and personally. The same talents, insights, and knowledge that help direct Jack Henry’s strategic course will be a strong benefit to IIA.”
