UNW, a Newcastle-based independent chartered accountancy and business advisory firm, has strengthened its audit and assurance services through a number of appointments and client wins.

The group has announced 14 appointments since January 2020, expanding its team to 40 staff members.

Moreover, UNW has secured a number of recent client successes, including the Carlisle giftware firm Enesco, London-based global events agency, The iLuka Collective, North West Recycling, and Matfen Hall.

Other newly won clients consist of car retailer Pulman Group, automotive supplier SNOP UK, and electric vehicle charging equipment producer Elmtronics.

Michael Morris, audit and assurance partner at UNW, said: “Our expanding client base has enabled us to recruit some excellent new team members in to audit which will help ensure that our client service levels continue to be first class.

“We already have a strong audit team and very much have a coaching culture where we help our students train, develop, and get the right experience.”

Rob Freestone, managing director at Enesco, added: “Having had already engaged UNW for all of our tax advice needs we had first-hand experience of their excellent service levels, and their extremely personable and practical approach.

“The added synergies and cost effectiveness made choosing UNW as our auditors an easy one.”
