Goldwells, a Peterhead-based accountancy firm, has announced the acquisition of James Wallace Business Services, an accountancy and bookkeeping business.
The deal will see the Goldwells’ staff members expand as bookkeeping specialists and other employees transfer to the group’s Elgin operations.
Now with eight offices across the north of Scotland, Goldwells’ business in the region has been “very busy” following the recent appointments of Ranald McDonald and Ewen Edwards to the group.
Gary Addison, managing director at Goldwells, said: “Goldwells has acquired several businesses over the last few years, as we aim to provide a wider range of services to our clients across Scotland, and we always make sure that we grow with like-minded professional people.
“James [Wallace] has done an impressive job and we look forward to welcoming the new team member to our Elgin office, and to providing expert business finance advice to business owners in the area.”
James Wallace Business Services was formed in 2012 by James Wallace, who has now decided to pursue a different career path.
Wallace said that he is “confident” the Goldwells team will be able to provide “excellent support” to the firm’s existing clients.
He added: “James Wallace Business Services has been an established business in Elgin since 2012, and it is good to see that the clients will be able to continue to receive high quality financial support here in Elgin.
“I have decided to move into a completely different area, and it is good that the personnel who worked with me are able to continue to support the clients, in a professional and impressive environment.”
