UHY Hacker Young has appointed Robert Kidson as managing director of its corporate finance team.

Kidson will join the London office from his role as partner and head of corporate finance at MHA Macintyre Hudson, where he was stationed for over four years.

He began his career at Barclays, and held senior positions at a number of leading investment banks before moving into corporate finance.

In his new role, Kidson will continue to advise owner managed businesses on mergers, acquisitions and finance raising. Although he will handle transactions across all sectors, Kidson has a “particular strength” in the media sector.

Kidson said: “UHY Hacker Young has a great reputation for its work in corporate finance and as reporting accountants for AIM businesses.

“They have a very strong and loyal following amongst owner managed businesses. In addition to working with the high quality client base we will be providing our corporate finance services to a wide array of companies in the UK marketplace.”

Laurence Sacker, managing partner at UHY Hacker Young, added: “Robert has an excellent track record in advising owner managed businesses on mergers and acquisitions and corporate fundraising. His skills will add enormous value to UHY Hacker Young’s corporate finance offering.”
