Liverpool-based DSG Chartered Accountants has completed the transfer of accounting firm Mazars’ Liverpool audit practice.
The transaction is set to boost the independent firm’s audit team to 31, as the deal involves the transfer of the majority of Mazars’ Liverpool audit clients and staff, including audit directors Neil Kelly and Angela Harrison.
DSG has continued to invest in its team in recent months, following a series of promotions. In October, DSG announced the promotion of four of its corporate business team members, while Mark Kearsley was also promoted to tax director.
The firm is also looking to expand its operations in Liverpool, with a planned office move scheduled for early 2020.
Tony Bayliss, senior partner at DSG Chartered Accountants, said the transfer is an “excellent” transaction for DSG and enhances the firm’s reputation in the local marketplace.
He said: “Given the strength of the existing DSG audit offering, we were considered to be a natural fit, and we are confident that this represents a great outcome for both the clients and staff transferring over.
“We look forward to welcoming the new team and will work closely with Neil and Angela to ensure clients are transitioned smoothly and that excellent client service levels are maintained.”
