R&D tax firm adds senior financial specialist to team

Financial specialist and accountant Mark Wilcox has joined Midlands-based tax firm Luvo Financial. Independent firm Luvo specialises in advising businesses about R&D tax credits, capital allowances and patent box claims, working both directly with clients as well as supporting a network of independent accountants to deliver advice to their clients. Chartered management accountant Wilcox is the latest hire in the firm’s recruitment drive, and brings 35-years of experience in senior financial and accounting in-house roles for large organisations in the UK’s manufacturing and logistics sectors. Most recently, Wilcox was finance and procurement director for Cheshire-based family-owned cheese making business for Joseph Heler Limited for 11 years. He was also group finance director of Royal Doulton, and previously held various senior financial roles during 20 years at Wedgewood in Staffordshire. In his new role, Wilcox will support Luvo’s partners and founders Ian Batkin and Vicki White, working directly with the firm’s clients and also supporting its network of independent accountants to deliver specialist R&D Tax advice to their clients. Wilcox said: “My 35-years in finance has been spent largely in manufacturing businesses with integrated logistics operations. Each of the companies I have worked at over the years has focused on innovation, and product and process development, which clearly delivers great synergy with Luvo’s primary activities and client work, as well as first-hand insights into R&D. “As such, my experience and knowledge fits well with Luvo and will complement the firm’s existing expertise and knowledge.
