London-based mining company Anglo American has announced it is to change its auditor from Deloitte to PwC.

PwC will take over as the company’s auditor from next year after its board rejected reappointing Deloitte, with 20% of shareholders voting against. An EU mandate states that companies listed in Europe must change their auditor every 20 years.

An Anglo American statement read: said, “There are no matters in connection with Deloitte’s prospective retirement as external auditor which need to be brought to the attention of shareholders.”

The decision to drop Deloitte as auditor comes after 20 years of working with the mining firm since it was first listed on the London Stock Exchange.
