KPMG UK has announced the appointment of Donnie MacLeod as the firm’s managing director within the energy M&A team based in London.
This latest appointment at the firm’s UK energy M&A team, which is led by partners Gavin Quantock and Adrian Scholtz, takes the team to 35 energy advisers with plans for further expansion. The business now has three partners and two managing directors.
MacLeod joins the firm from Standard Chartered, where he spent five years as a senior energy M&A banker advising energy clients in Europe and the US. Prior to that, he was an energy-focused financier at Deloitte for more than 10 years.
In his role at KPMG, he will be responsible for advising energy and renewables clients on their involvement in the global energy transition.
KPMG’s energy M&A team forms part of the firm’s deal advisory practice in the UK, which includes teams of valuation, M&A, debt advisory and transaction advisory professionals, and the firm’s special situations and turnaround, working capital optimisation and business transformation teams.
Quantock said: “I’m delighted to welcome Donnie to our growing team as we continue to invest in our energy M&A practice. Donnie’s wealth of experience and strong track record in M&A and the energy sector will be invaluable in strengthening our unique offering.
“The demand for renewable energy investment continues to be strong and M&A is right at the heart of this.”
MacLeod added: “It is great to join KPMG and be part of a leading team driving transactions at an important time in the energy transition. I’m looking forward to using my experience to help clients navigate the opportunities and challenges that they face.”
