Iain Masterton, VAT director at accountants Chiene and Tait (C+T), has been appointed to AGN International’s EMEA Taxation Task Force.

The body monitors tax developments, coordinating resources and information to benefit the clients of AGN member firms across the world.

Masterton’s new role will involve ongoing contact with fellow Task Force members from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa on all aspects of tax developments and new legislation and its potential impact on businesses operating in those regions.

C+T is a member of AGN International, a worldwide association of separate and independent accounting and advisory businesses with nearly 200 member firms in over 80 countries worldwide.

Carol Flockhart, C+T’s managing partner, said: “As one of Scotland’s foremost VAT experts, Iain’s appointment to the AGN Taxation Task Force is highly merited. He brings formidable experience and knowledge on UK VAT and customs matters to this role and will undoubtedly add real value to both our clients and the worldwide AGN association.”
