BDO has announced two new partner appointments, including Meenakshi Iyer as a tax partner, and the promotion of the firm’s chief information officer (CIO), Stuart Walters, to partner, both of whom are based in London.

Iyer specialises in transfer pricing, with over 17 years of experience advising large corporates and mid-sized businesses. In her role at BDO, she will continue this with a particular specialism in the technology, media and telecoms sectors and operational transfer pricing.

Meanwhile, Walters joined BDO in 2017, having over 20 years’ experience delivering technical solutions within large organisations. His new role as partner will see him focus on technology services, digital products and innovation.

Walters also sits on BDO’s Global IT Committee, and he has led a number of “significant” transformational technology projects during the last five and a half years.

This includes BDO’s merger with Moore Stephens LLP in 2019 and the firm’s shift to working fully-remotely at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Paul Eagland, managing partner at BDO, said: “As businesses continue to expand their global operations, complex international tax advice including transfer pricing is in high demand. Meenakshi’s experience and knowledge in this area will be an excellent addition to our expert tax team.

“Stuart’s promotion to partner also demonstrates our commitment to investing in our people and technology. Stuart has made a huge impact in his time at BDO as CIO. Technology and innovation will play a crucial role in the future growth of the firm as we continue to help our people and businesses succeed.”

Since the start of this year, BDO has appointed 17 external partners. In addition to Walters’ promotion, BDO recently announced that Kaley Crossthwaite and Anna Draper have been promoted to the firm’s leadership team as of 1 July.
