FRP has expanded its team in Southampton with the appointment of James Prior as a restructuring advisory director, and Liam Burrows as insolvency manager, expanding the firm’s newly opened office in the region.

Prior has a career spanning 14 years, providing restructuring advice to SMEs, owner-managed businesses and large corporations on the south coast and throughout the UK. His experience spans a range of sectors, including construction, real estate, healthcare, leisure and hospitality, as well as logistics and financial services.

He has advised businesses, lenders and government agencies on matters that cover all stages of the corporate lifecycle. This includes advising on shareholder disputes, the introduction of new finance, debt restructuring and negotiations with creditors, as well as formal restructuring appointments.

Meanwhile, Burrows joins the FRP team with over nine years’ experience encompassing a range of corporate and personal financial restructurings.

In his new role, Burrows will work closely with restructuring advisory partner Sandy Kinninmonth, Prior, and other FRP colleagues in Southampton and across the firm’s UK office network.

He will manage the restructuring case portfolio, helping to maintain stakeholder communications, and to ensure that cases are progressed in line with regulatory requirements.

FRP’s Southampton office opened in March this year and is led by Kinninmonth.

Kinninmonth said: “I am delighted to welcome James and Liam into the FRP team. They bring a real depth of experience and expertise to their roles, and will help us continue to provide a market-leading service to our clients, while continuing to grow our practice across the region.”

Prior added: “The launch of the new office in Southampton is an exciting opportunity for FRP and it is a real pleasure to be joining the team. They have a reputation for exceptional client service and a proven track record of delivering tangible results.

“To be working with Sandy to help the firm expand its service offering at such a crucial time for businesses is a brilliant opportunity.”

Burrows said: “I’ve been hugely impressed by the results FRP has achieved for its clients, and am really looking forward to working with James, Sandy and our colleagues across the business to continue to deliver exceptional outcomes.”
