UK accounting industry turnover for July 2021 hit £3.06bn and was the third highest month on record according to the latest Office of National Statistics (ONS) data.

In total, July 2021 revenues were up by 24% compared with the previous year’s results of £2.5bn.

Julie Matheson, regulatory partner, accounting services, Kingsley Napley LLP, said: “The accounting sector has remained robust over the summer period. Whilst revenues are marginally down, this is evidence that activity levels in the sector remain strong.

“The industry continues to ride the wave of uncertainty in the market and remains well above pre-pandemic levels.”

She added: “Those heading firms are likely to be reassured by these results but should continue to consider risks in the market for their people and wider stakeholders.”
