Saffery Champness has appointed private client and trust specialist Fiona Graham as a consultant in its London tax team.

Prior to joining Saffery Champness, Graham worked in legal practice for 18 years at the private client law firm Boodle Hatfield, where she was a senior partner in the private client and tax team.

She brings with her “extensive experience” advising on tax and succession matters for landed estates, UK trusts and family businesses, whether through outright ownership or trusts, partnerships or other vehicles, as well as strategic planning.

At Saffery Champness she will support the London tax team in their provision of advice to landed estates clients, and as a former practising solicitor will also be available to work closely with clients’ legal advisers on “succession planning, trust, and asset protection strategies”.

Fiona Graham, said: “I am very excited to be joining Saffery Champness which has a well-deserved reputation as one of the pre-eminent advisers to high-net-worth individuals, families and their business interests. I am looking forward to contributing to this legacy and helping clients to protect their estates both in the present and for the future.

“This includes working with estates businesses who have been detrimentally affected during the pandemic as a result of restrictions on the events industry, as well as families who are planning for the transfer of wealth and business interests to the next generation at a time of significant change and disruption globally.”

She added: “These matters require careful navigation and the marshalling of advice from a range of trusted professionals which is at the heart of my, and Saffery Champness’, client first and collaborative approach.”
