Mazars has announced the appointment of Karen Classen as a public interest entity (PIE) audit partner at the group.

Based in London, Classen’s addition will strengthen the firm’s audit expertise with large and listed businesses.

In the role, she will be responsible for driving growth in the consumer and services sector, as well as delivering a number of audit transformation initiatives.

David Herbinet, partner and head of audit at the company, said: “We are delighted to welcome Karen to the team as a Partner at what is an exciting time for our audit practice.

“Her depth of experience and industry knowledge will be a huge asset in delivering high quality audits and ensuring that we provide the best possible service to our clients.”

Classen joins the group from Deloitte, and will also be tasked with developing the Mazars team through coaching, support, and mentoring.

Herbinet added that she is a “perfect fit” with the group’s “values and the culture” being built across the team.
