Grant Thornton expands Yorkshire and North East operations

Business advisory firm Grant Thornton has announced 40 appointments and promotions in Yorkshire and the North East of England.

Among the raft of new names are a number of director appointments across the group’s departments.

Duncan Morpeth has been promoted to director of the firm’s corporate finance team after an “outstanding year,” while Richard Oddy will now act as director of Grant Thornton’s advisory team.

Based in Sheffield, Eimear Considine has also been promoted to director within the consulting team, where she will also lead the company’s transformation and programme management office department. 

The final director promotion is that of Dan Mansfield, who will head Grant Thornton’s public sector advisory team.

Andy Wood, managing partner for Yorkshire and the North East at the firm, said: “The last 12 months have been remarkably challenging for all businesses and as a trusted advisor we have done our best to support our clients to help them adapt to the changes we have all had to make.

“Our people have responded brilliantly over the last year, so I am really pleased to be recognising some outstanding contributions with four rising stars, Duncan Morpeth, Richard Oddy, Eimear Considine and Dan Mansfield earning promotions to director.”

The majority of hires have come in the firm’s tax and audit practices at the graduate and school leaver levels.

However, Paul Wilson has been promoted to partner, where he will continue to work within the Northern tax team.

Wood added: “People are our business, so I am delighted that we are investing in the next generation of talent, with more than 30 people joining the team at school-leaver or graduate level in Yorkshire and the North East.”
