Accountancy firm, PwC is to create 200 new jobs in Bradford following the opening of its new office.

The new office has been set an “official launch date” of 23 May, with staff set to begin working there in late March. So far the company has recruited for 60 roles at the new office with the total workforce set to grow to 225. The firm is also expected to close six regional offices in Sheffield, Plymouth, Liverpool, Norwich, Swansea and Dungannon, in Northern Ireland.

Will Richardson, from PwC, said: “Bradford is one of the largest cities in the UK, and the youngest city, offering a large and talented workforce that has so much to offer not just Northern Powerhouse growth but the UK’s economic growth, too.”

Bradford Council leader, Susa Hinchcliffe, said: “PwC want to attract the talents of the future and it’s brilliant that they acknowledge that Bradford, as the UK’s youngest city, is the place to do that.”
