S&W has appointed Emily Walton as partner in its private client tax services team, based in London

Walton brings over 16 years’ of experience in the profession and joins the firm from EY Private Client Services.

She specialises in advising clients with cross‑border US-UK tax exposure and navigating dual‑jurisdiction tax rules.

Walton works closely with high‑net‑worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs and business owners, as well as start-ups and large multinationals, supporting both the companies and their internationally connected owners with their tax filing obligations.

She has advised on a wide range of personal and business tax matters, including cross‑border planning, business exits and international relocations.

Walton said: “I am delighted to be joining S&W at such an exciting time in its growth. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about demystifying complex tax issues for clients and helping them navigate the tax complexities that arise during significant personal events and business transactions.

“S&W’s strong commitment to technical excellence, client service, and a truly collaborative culture really stood out to me, and I am thrilled to contribute to the continued growth of the private client tax services offering.”

Anita Millar-Neale, partner, head of International Private Client Tax, S&W, added: “We are delighted to welcome Emily to the PCTS team. She brings a wealth of experience in advising clients on complex UK and international tax matters, and her ability to support individuals and families through significant transactional events will be a real asset.

“Emily’s collaborative approach and commitment to exceptional client service align perfectly with our values, and I look forward to working closely with her as she settles into her new role.”

Chris Shepard, partner and head of Private Client Tax Services at S&W, concluded: “We are very pleased to welcome Emily to the firm. Her extensive experience in advising clients on sophisticated tax matters, particularly in the context of navigating cross‑border tax planning and the associated transactions at a personal and business level, makes her an excellent addition to our team.

“Emily’s appointment further strengthens our private client tax services capability and reflects our commitment to investing in talented experts who can support the evolving needs of our clients.”
