Cooper Parry has announced a partnership with Potentia, a non-profit network focused on empowering female leaders in the accounting and finance profession.
The agreement marks the first time Potentia has secured a corporate partner within the accountancy sector.
Potentia provides mentoring, networking events and accredited learning to help women achieve senior leadership roles.
The partnership aligns with the growth of Cooper Parry, which currently employs nearly 2,000 people and holds B Corp status.
At present, women represent 28% of partners and associate partners at Cooper Parry, while 43% of senior managers are female.
The firm has set targets for 2028 to increase these figures to 35% and 50% respectively. The business is also a signatory of the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter.
The partnership complements several existing initiatives at the firm, including She Rocks Business events and its Women in Finance insight days for students.
Representatives from the company will now join the Potentia community to support its programmes and events.
Jo Vincent-Murphy, indirect tax partner at Cooper Parry, said: “Supporting and empowering women in what has traditionally been a male-dominated sector really matters. This partnership is a brilliant opportunity to keep pushing for progress and to support more women as they step into leadership roles.”
Nerys Walters, co-founder of Potentia, added: “Cooper Parry’s commitment to championing diversity, inclusion, and female leadership strongly aligns with our mission to support women in fulfilling their potential and increasing representation at board level.”
Dominique Highfield, advisory board member at Potentia, concluded: “Being part of it has given me a front row seat to just how much having the right people in your corner matters for women building careers in finance. Cooper Parry gets that, and I’m really glad to have them on board.”
