PwC UK has announced Marcus Bokkerink will serve as independent non‑executive (INE) and audit non-executive (ANE).

The firm said Bokkerink will join its Public Interest Body (PIB), working alongside PIB chair Philip Rycroft, Suzanne Baxter and Rob Perrins. He will also sit on the firm’s Audit Oversight Body (AOB), chaired by Caroline Gardner.

PwC said Bokkerink draws “extensive” leadership and governance experience from his time as senior partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group, where he led the firm’s UK and European consumer and strategy practices, as well as several global client teams.

It said he will also bring “significant” regulatory and public interest expertise after serving as chair of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

Currently Bokkerink is a non‑executive board member of Pinsent Masons International, an Advisory Group member of The European Consumer Organisation (BEUC), and a non‑executive director of Provenance.

His pro bono experience includes serving as chair of the Development Board of Pembroke College, Cambridge, governor of Manchester Grammar School and honorary fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School.

Marco Amitrano, senior partner of PwC UK, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Marcus as an Independent Non‑Executive. He’s joining a group who bring extensive and varied experience to our governance. His international and regulatory insight will reinforce our focus on quality and strengthen the trust placed in us by our clients, regulators and the public.”
