MHA has appointed Craig McSherry as a partner in its banking and capital markets team to oversee audit and assurance for regulated financial services entities.
McSherry joins MHA from PwC, where he spent over 15 years specialising in audit and assurance for multinational investment banks, retail banks, and fintech companies.
His technical expertise includes client money audits, regulatory reporting, and controls assurance.
Reporting directly to the chief executive, he will be responsible for expanding the firm’s financial services offering both in the UK and internationally.
The appointment follows MHA’s recent international expansion, including the August 2025 acquisition of Baker Tilly South-East Europe.
The firm now employs approximately 2,200 people across 30 offices. McSherry’s role is intended to support the increasing regulatory requirements of MHA’s banking clients, particularly in the structured finance and brokerage sectors.
Rakesh Shaunak, chief executive of MHA, said: “We are welcoming Craig to MHA. His sector knowledge and experience in financial services auditing make him an addition to our banking and capital markets team. Craig’s appointment reflects our commitment to investing in personnel to support the needs of our clients in this sector.”
McSherry added: “I’m joining MHA at a time of growth. The firm has a reputation in financial services, and I look forward to contributing to the development of its banking and capital markets practice. Helping to build a high-quality team and supporting clients across the sector is my focus.”
