Albert Goodman has promoted Lauren James to partner in its personal tax team, with effect from 1 December 2025.

James, a chartered tax adviser and full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), has more than 20 years’ experience advising private clients.

Her work includes international and cross-border tax matters, residency and domicile issues, inheritance tax and capital gains tax.

She joined the South West-based accountancy firm in 2024 and has since played a key role in the development of its personal tax practice, supporting clients across the UK and overseas.

In her new role, James will continue to lead the expansion of the firm’s personal tax services and contribute to its wider focus on private client and international advisory work.

The promotion comes as Albert Goodman continues to expand its specialist teams and invest in its regional presence. The firm has offices in Taunton, Bristol, Yeovil and Weymouth.

Lauren James said: “Albert Goodman has provided an environment that encourages growth and collaboration, and I feel privileged to work alongside such talented colleagues and our clients. I’m honoured to join the partnership and to continue building on the firm’s strong reputation for private client advisory services.”

Iain McVicar, managing partner at Albert Goodman, added: “Lauren’s promotion is thoroughly well deserved,” he said. “Her leadership will further strengthen our personal tax practice and help us deliver greater value to our clients.”
