Accountancy firm Dodd and Co has donated £5,000 to a range of charities as part of its annual Christmas giving programme.
The firm’s staff were invited to nominate causes to support this year, with Brainstrust and Dragonfly Cancer Trust selected as its principal beneficiaries.
Brainstrust provides support and information to people diagnosed with brain tumours and their families, working alongside clinicians and campaigning to improve care and outcomes.
Meanwhile, Dragonfly Cancer Trust supports children and young people with life-limiting cancer diagnoses, focusing on palliative care and helping families create lasting memories.
The two charities were nominated by members of the Dodd and Co team with personal connections to their work.
Accounts senior Jo Batey nominated Brainstrust after receiving support from the charity following a brain tumour diagnosis last year.
Additionally, accounts senior Becky Connelly nominated Dragonfly Cancer Trust after the charity supported a close friend and her family during cancer treatment.
In addition, the firm made donations to Penrith and Carlisle Food Banks, CFM Cash for Kids, Carlisle Youth Zone and the Cumbria Community Foundation Winter Warmth Appeal, which provide support to individuals and families facing hardship.
Joanne Thomlinson, partner at Dodd and Co, said: “Supporting charities that mean so much to our team is something we’re incredibly proud of. Every suggestion represented a truly worthy cause; we’re thrilled to help make a difference. These organisations provide essential support during life’s toughest moments, and we hope our contributions help them continue their exceptional work.”
