Rothmans Chartered Accountants is marking its 70th anniversary this year, having supported businesses and individuals across the South since its founding in 1955.

The firm was established in Winchester by Algy Rothman and has since grown into an independent practice with six offices across Hampshire, employing about 75 staff and partners. Its client base includes start-ups, family-owned businesses and multinational companies.

Over the decades, the firm has provided accountancy, tax and financial advice through periods of regulatory change and economic volatility, working with successive generations of some long-standing clients.

Rothmans held a staff event on the River Thames in London to mark the anniversary and recognise employees’ contribution to the firm’s development.

Jonathan Poulter, a partner at the firm, said: “Our 70th anniversary is a tremendous milestone for our firm. After seven decades in business, we are proud to be often still working with the next generations of the very same families and companies we first helped set up.

“Their continued confidence in us is the greatest endorsement of the quality of services we offer to all our clients. As we look to the future, our focus remains the same – delivering first-class accountancy and specialist advice, building strong relationships and supporting the prosperity of our clients for many years to come.”
