RSM UK has appointed Shannon Dowdles as a corporate tax partner in its Aberdeen office, strengthening its services to clients in the energy and natural resources sector.

Dowdles is a chartered tax adviser with more than 20 years’ experience advising large businesses on domestic and international tax, including work on the UK Continental Shelf. 

Her expertise covers corporate tax matters such as structuring and financing, governance, incentives, compliance and engagement with HMRC.

She began her career at Deloitte before moving to EY, where she became a partner, and has also worked in industry as tax director for an international drilling company. 

Additionally, she is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Dowdles said: “It’s great to be joining RSM in Aberdeen at such a key time for the sector and city. I’m looking forward to growing Aberdeen’s corporate tax team and working with colleagues across RSM to provide a responsive, integrated service that delivers real value for clients.”
