Henderson Loggie has revealed that it has expanded its trainee intake to 14 this year, welcoming 11 new starters this month alongside three recent recruits.
The latest recruits include eight graduates, one modern apprentice, and four direct-entry trainees who will spend a year in the business before beginning professional studies.
Together, they will be based across Henderson Loggie’s Edinburgh and Dundee offices, working in departments across audit, tax, finance and forensic accounting.
In addition, one of the firm’s current modern apprentices is progressing to a graduate apprenticeship in business management. This brings the total number of Henderson Loggie staff undertaking a professional or recognised qualification to 56.
Depending on their role, trainees will work towards qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS), the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), or the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors.
The trainee programme is delivered under the firm’s HL Academy, which this year has expanded with the launch of Thrive, a development initiative for qualified professionals to build advisory and leadership skills.
The firm highlighted that in the past 12 months, five recently qualified staff members have stepped into management positions.
Fiona Doctor, people partner, said: “Developing the next generation of professionals is central to our strategy. We are proud to support our trainees as they begin their careers and equally proud of the progress our qualified staff are making through the Thrive programme. With more than 50 people now training towards recognised qualifications, we are investing heavily in the future of our business and the profession in Scotland.”
