South West accountancy firm Monahans has appointed Joel Haft as head of internal audit, based in its Swindon office.
Haft will lead the launch and development of a new internal audit service line, part of the firm’s strategy to grow its advisory offering.
He joins from SS&C Financial Services, where he helped strengthen internal control frameworks and deliver assurance across financial services, fintech and blockchain sectors. He has worked with boards, audit committees and regulators, and has spoken at industry events on the evolving role of internal audit in crypto and digital assets.
Haft said: “Monahans has big ambitions for its advisory services, and building an agile internal audit function is a great challenge to take on.
“There’s a real opportunity here to build a service line that helps organisations strengthen their governance, meet regulatory expectations and confidently manage challenges.”
Simon Tombs, managing partner at Monahans, added: “Joel is a fantastic addition to the team. His experience, passion and point of view are exactly what we need as we grow this part of the business.”
The new service will offer clients practical support to manage risk, tighten controls and stay ahead of regulatory change.
