Accountancy and business advisory firm MHA has more than doubled the size of its Manchester office following a period of sustained growth in client work and staff numbers.

The firm has taken an additional 3,200 sq ft of space at its 80 Mosley Street base which overlooks the city’s St Peter’s Square. The firm now occupies almost 5,500 sq ft of office space within the building which is home to 66 staff including 10 partners and five directors.

It follows a period of significant growth nationally for MHA with the firm reporting record financial results in July and making a flurry of new appointments over the last 12-months.

The firm revealed the success of its corporate finance advisory team has been a key driver of MHA’s growth in Manchester, as well as its specialist tax and audit teams. MHA has 22 offices across the UK, including six in the North West in cities including Liverpool, Preston, and Lancaster.

Andrew Feeke, partner in the Manchester office and head of the corporate finance team, said: “In the five years since we opened our Manchester office, we’ve seen steady and sustained growth across all our service areas and many new colleagues joining our team.

“Recruiting outstanding people across those service lines and giving our clients access to the specialist advice that can unlock their growth potential has been a major factor in that success. Our merger with MHA earlier this year has only strengthened our national and international reach, giving our clients the expertise that can match their ambition.”

Recent senior appointments for MHA in Manchester have included Russell Cooper, Lee Van Houplines and Lindsey Shepherd as audit partners, Rob Richardson and Rob Dawes as partners within the corporate finance team, technical partner Chris Greenhalgh and Jimmy Davies as a director in its specialist VAT and indirect taxation team.

Graham Gordon, regional chair of MHA in the North West, added: “Andy and the leadership team in Manchester have done a phenomenal job in growing a very rounded team of specialist advisors.

“Our world is more connected than ever, so whether you’re a manufacturer, a software business, a food producer, or a real estate firm, it’s vital to understand how these global factors affect your business and how to make the most of opportunities. Our ability to leverage global expertise for the benefit of our clients has been key to our own growth.”
