DJH has announced the appointment of Matt Orange as its first head of indirect tax, a newly-created role that will support the tax team across the firm.

Responsible for indirect taxes and primarily VAT and SDLT advice, Orange will provide clients with expert guidance, as well as support the tax team with his extensive knowledge and experience in tax law and compliance.

Orange said: “I’m thrilled to join DJH in their tax department at an exciting time for the group. The brand-new role allows me to expand my expertise and contribute to the firm’s continued success in navigating complex tax transactions.”

Michael Burgess, tax director at DJH, added: “Appointing Matt comes after extensive development of our tax department and supporting the group’s ambitions. The role will be fundamental in driving strategic advice, enhancing our client services, and building our position as a leader in tax advisory.

“With Matt’s appointment, we are poised to elevate our capabilities and deliver straight-talking advice to clients, while staying ahead in an ever-evolving tax landscape.”

The new appointment comes following DJH’s six acquisitions in 2023, which saw the team swell to more than 480 across its 12 offices across the Midlands, north west and Yorkshire.
