Interpath Advisory has appointed Baréma Bocoum to its group executive committee, as the firm looks to accelerate its international expansion plans.Bocoum has over 23 years’ experience in the market in both France and the UK, and has advised the boards and management teams of corporates and Private Equity houses across Europe on complex deals and special situations to drive strategic and operational efficiency.

According to Interpath, he has a “long-standing track record” of advising on complex transactions, carve-outs and strategic partnerships and alliances, and in recent times, has advised on a number of significant French and cross-border transactions, including those involving AccorInvest, Technicolor and Casino.

He was previously EMA head of Turnaround and Restructuring at KPMG. He began his Restructuring career with KPMG in London, before moving to Paris to support the development of the firm’s Turnaround and Restructuring practice in France. He was appointed head of the practice in 2020.

In his new role, Bocoum will support Interpath’s group CEO and wider executive leadership team to expand Interpath’s geographic footprint into mainland Europe.

Mark Raddan, head of Advisory for Interpath Advisory, said: “We are delighted to welcome Baréma to the firm and to our senior leadership team.

“We have long been vocal in our ambition to build the world’s leading advisory and restructuring business, with a significant presence in all major financial centres around the globe. Baréma’s experience of building and leading world-class teams will be pivotal as we push on with our near-term plans of expanding our business into mainland Europe, seeking to disrupt the traditional professional services market as we do so.”

Bocoum added: “Having followed Interpath’s growth journey since its inception, I’m struck by the sheer scale and strength of ambition across the business. In just three years, they have already shaken up the traditional professional service model in the UK and Ireland, winning some of the most exciting mandates in the market and seizing market share from the Big 4.

“Their hunger, energy and drive to become one of the world’s leading financial advisory firms is palpable, so I’m really excited to be working with the senior leadership team as we build and grow our presence across mainland Europe.”
