Aberdeenshire-based accountancy firm, Acumen Accountants, has officially merged with Surrey-based accountancy practice, Ambly Accountants Limited.
As a result, Acumen has bolstered its management team with the appointment of Andrew Wilson as a new director.
The strategic merger comes on the back of its recent acquisition of Aberdeen-based accountancy firm, Graeme Munro and Company.
Ambly Accountants Ltd was founded by Andrew Wilson in 2017. He is a chartered accountant and accomplished financial director, experienced in overseeing businesses with turnovers of over £60m.
The merged entity, operating from the existing premises in Surrey, welcomes three new members, including Wilson, to the Acumen team, bringing the overall headcount to 45.
According to Acumen, clients of both firms will experience “a seamless transition while benefiting from the enhanced scale of support and resources that Acumen brings”.
Ross Murray, managing director of Acumen, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Andrew and the Ambly team into the Acumen family. This merger is another milestone in our growth journey and provides us with an excellent platform to expand our services and client base.
“The merger fits with our strategy to deliver first-class, tailored and adaptable tax and accountancy services to a growing UK-wide customer base. It will allow us to extend our footprint south of the border and with the addition of Andrew’s skills and expertise we can expand our advisory services bringing further value to our combined client base.”
Wilson added: “I am excited to join forces with Acumen, a firm I have admired for its dedication to client success and its values that align seamlessly with mine. Together, we will continue to deliver exceptional service and support to our clients. Our collaboration signifies a mutual commitment to driving growth and excellence within the accountancy sector. It’s a great time to be joining forces and I’m looking forward to the future together.”
