TaxScouts sponsors ‘World’s Fastest Accountant’ in Olympics goal

Eugene Amo-Dadzie is a senior chartered accountant at construction company, St George Plc, and is also known as the fourth fastest Brit of all time

TaxScouts has extended sponsorship support to Eugene Amo-Dadzie – dubbed ‘The World’s Fastest Accountant’ – in his goal of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Amo-Dadzie is a senior chartered accountant at construction company, St George Plc, and is also known as the fourth fastest Brit of all time – able to sprint 100m in 9.93 seconds.

Having set his sights on Paris 2024 qualification, he has teamed up with TaxScouts to help him on his journey.

The financial support provided by TaxScouts will go towards his coaching fees, medical fees, training camps, equipment, travel, accommodation, and other day-to-day living expenses as he takes more time away from work to train.

Amo-Dadzie discovered his talent for running in 2018 after a friend encouraged him to try out sprinting.

He was announced 10th fastest man in European history and also finished 10th at the World Athletics Championships last summer. All of this was accomplished whilst Amo-Dadzie continued his accounting role at St George Plc.

Amo-Dadzie said: “The accountancy profession often has the reputation of being quite an inflexible industry to work within, but my company has been very supportive of my running and have allowed me to balance my work with my training.

“I’m incredibly proud of my career as a chartered accountant, so as I embark on this journey to reach the Paris 2024 Olympic Games – I deeply feel I’m flying the flag for our industry!”

He added: “I’m delighted to be partnering with TaxScouts, it will also help prove how accountancy doesn’t need to be a rigid industry – and with a flexible approach, achieving your goals both in and out of the office can be possible.”

Malcolm Cowley, CEO of TaxScouts, added: “Accountant by day, elite athlete by night –  what a story! We were so impressed and inspired when we heard about Eugene’s achievements, we immediately wanted to lend him our support.

“Balancing his day job with an intense training regime is no mean feat, but he is proving it can be done. Eugene is a true credit to our industry and we cannot wait to see where his running – and accounting – career takes him next.”
