BDO’s Real Estate and Construction Group is one of the largest property advisory units in the UK, comprising over 350 technical specialists

BDO has announced the appointment of Craig Wilson as a director in its debt advisory team.

Wilson joins from Knight Frank’s capital advisory team and brings more than 21 years’ experience of advising mid-market and institutional real estate clients.

His expertise lies in advising clients on raising debt facilities for commercial real estate acquisitions, developments and refinancings.

He has also spent time working as a commercial real estate debt originator for three UK banks, including 10 years at Barclays Corporate.

Ross McDonald, head of Debt Advisory, BDO, said: “Craig brings with him a wealth of experience as a debt adviser and lender across all real estate sub-sectors, with several high-profile deals under his belt. We’re delighted he has joined us as we continue to expand our debt advisory offering across the UK real estate market.”

Wilson added: “BDO is an ambitious firm with its sights set on growth in the real estate market. With deep experience in a number of sub-sectors, I’m pleased to be strengthening BDO’s capabilities across the debt capital markets.

“I am confident my experience in arranging investment and development financing means we can optimise debt terms and reduce execution risk for real estate clients, which is vital in the current market. I look forward to working with the team to strengthen our combined offering.”
