Brearley and Co has announced the opening of two new offices following the firm’s site acquisitions from FL Accounting.

The firm’s expansion across the country comes after Mark Jenkinson, the founder of FL Accounting and who previously operated as Sochall Smith Accountants in Sheffield for more than 25 years, decided to demerge three years ago.

In the acquisition, Brearley and Co will retain all existing staff at the FL Accounting offices, while growing the current services offered to its client base.

The expansion will take the firm’s office count to five, with offices in Mexborough, Dinnington, Barnsley, Doncaster and Chapeltown.

According to the firm, this move is set to bring a wealth of opportunities for clients and employees, including the potential for recruitment as the firm grows.

Jenkinson said: “We searched for over three years to find an accountancy practice that could take on our clients and team and Brearley and Co were my ideal choice. They have the structure, skill set and culture. We look forward to working with them and assisting their expansion.”

Mark Smallman, managing director of Brearley and Co, added: “We are excited to announce the move into two new catchment areas of Doncaster and Chapeltown. We welcome FL Accounting’s team into our growing organisation and look forward to working with their clients.”

Operating since 1984, Brearley and Co’s presence has grown fast since its first relocation across Yorkshire.
