Grant Thornton UK has partnered with global software company Ataccama to deliver AI powered data quality solutions to help businesses “maximise the quality and value of their data”.
The firm said that measuring, monitoring and managing data quality issues is core for companies seeking to improve their overall performance, but warned that not all firms are equally prepared for the digital age.
It said this new collaboration combines its expertise in data quality advisory and tooling integration with Ataccama’s technology, to equip firms with advanced processes and solutions to answer the “ever-evolving” requirements of creating and delivering quality data.
It added that the partnership will bring together the firm’s pre-existing breadth of market relationships with “hands-on” data quality experience, and Ataccama’s market-leading platform that “unites all the critical capabilities for modern data management”.
Nikhil Asthana, head of Data, RegTech and Digital Advisory, Grant Thornton UK, said: “As businesses become increasingly digital, data has become an integral component to the success of all firms.
“Decisions made by senior leadership rely heavily on key data quality dimensions, such as accuracy, completeness and timeliness. Falling short on any of these can lead to incorrect analysis and significant harm including financial losses and reputational damage.”
He added: “Additionally, due to increased regulatory scrutiny, there is also a greater demand for quality data sources that feed into regulatory reporting streams. If a firm lacks the ability to provide data of a high enough quality, there is an increased regulatory risk that can have long term effects.
“Our new collaboration with Ataccama will accelerate firms’ digital data transformation for long term growth and profitability at scale, providing organisations with a significant and long-lasting advantage in their respective markets.”
Nick Stammers, VP of UK and EMEA, Ataccama, said: “Businesses today need to be able to extract full value from their data to gain competitive advantage. Grant Thornton’s robust technical expertise and depth of market sector knowledge, together with Ataccama’s AI-powered data management platform, enables our joint customers to automate, scale and accelerate key data initiatives to outperform the competition.”
