Advisory firm Moore Kingston Smith has appointed Mark Treacher as a partner to strengthen its VAT advisory services for corporate and non-profit clients.
Treacher joins the firm following 25 years in VAT advisory roles at a Big Four firm. He previously led national indirect tax work for asset finance, motor captive finance, and specialist leasing businesses.
His new role involves advising charities, construction firms, and corporate entities on managing VAT costs. Treacher will focus on developing the firm’s financial services capability and assisting clients with transactional and operational VAT matters.
Managing partner Matt Meadows said: “We’re really pleased to welcome Mark to the team. He brings nearly 25 years of larger firm experience to further build out our boutique-style VAT offering, helping clients of all sizes navigate the complex VAT issues they face.”
Treacher added: “After almost 25 years with my previous firm, my next move had to be for the right opportunity, and I see real potential here at Moore Kingston Smith. Throughout the recruitment process, there’s been a sense of excitement about where the firm’s headed. The emphasis on strong relationships, with clients and between colleagues, made it clear I can contribute and help develop something meaningful here.”
