Crowe UK has been named the UK’s leading charity auditor for the 17th year in a row, according to Civil Society’s Charity Finance Audit Survey for 2025.
The firm has held the top position since 2009, with the latest survey again ranking Crowe first among auditors serving the charity sector. The results reinforce the long-standing focus of Crowe’s social purpose and non-profit team.
The 2025 survey draws on data from charities included in the Charity Finance 100 and 250 Indexes, alongside 703 direct survey responses. In total, 1,002 charities took part, representing a combined income of £40.1bn and total audit fees of £48.2m.
The annual survey is widely regarded as a benchmark for audit provision in the charity sector and is used by organisations to assess firms with specialist expertise in charity and non-profit work.
Naziar Hashemi, head of social purpose and non-profits at Crowe, said: “We are proud to have retained our number one position as auditors to the charity sector. This accolade highlights Crowe’s commitment to this significant part of the UK economy and society.”
Nigel Bostock, chief executive at Crowe, added: “Retaining our top position as charity auditors for the 17th consecutive year is a significant achievement for us. Our people and our firm are deeply committed to the values and missions of our clients in this sector.”
