Johnston Carmichael has partnered with Sage to offer a new cloud-based finance platform aimed at helping small and mid-sized enterprises manage growth and improve productivity.

The move makes the firm the first in Scotland to provide and implement Sage Intacct, an accounting system designed for high-performing SMEs and mid-sized organisations.

According to Johnston Carmichael, the platform’s features – including live dashboards and AI-driven automation – are expected to help companies respond faster to changes, strengthen controls and support decisions on matters such as cash flow and creditor payments.

The partnership will also allow the firm to deliver a fully integrated outsourced finance service by combining the technology with its advisory expertise.

Kirsty Reynolds, director and head of digital advisory and outsourced finance services at Johnston Carmichael, said: “As businesses adapt to rapid advancements in AI and technology, we’re seeing growing demand for system upgrades and replacements. Organisations are increasingly investing in technology to automate processes and strengthen controls.

“Businesses can use Sage Intacct to analyse their revenue streams and work out where they need to invest. Or similarly, they can compare different locations across their business to understand challenges and opportunities. Crucially, business owners and operators have the option to fully outsource their finance function through this software, leaving them to get on what they do best – running their businesses.”

She added: “It’s an exciting time for Johnston Carmichael to support clients through this transformation and see first-hand the real-time impact Sage Intacct is having on decision-making, performance, and long-term growth within businesses.”

Johnston Carmichael’s digital advisory team supports SMEs with cloud accounting integration, training and broader digital transformation projects. The team works with clients and software providers to build tailored systems that offer an end-to-end finance function with ongoing strategic support.
